The expenditure on acquisition of tangible fixed assets in all sectors of the economy amounted to BGN 44.138 billion or EUR 22.5 billion, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on Monday. The expenditure increased by 18.4% compared to the previous year.
Data from the NSI shows that in 2024, expenditures on the acquisition of tangible fixed assets across all sectors of the economy totalled EUR 19.066 billion at current prices, representing an 11.3% increase compared to 2023.
In 2025, the largest volume of investment in tangible fixed assets was made in the industry sector, amounting to BGN 14.132 billion or EUR 7.2 billion, followed by the services sector (trade, transportation, storage and postal services, accommodation and food service activities), with BGN 8.284 billion or EUR 4.2 billion.
During the reporting year 2025, a change was recorded in the structure of the expenditure on the acquisition of tangible fixed assets by type. The share of investments in land increased by 2.8 percentage points compared with the previous year, reaching 9.4%. At the same time, a 1.8 percentage point decline was observed in the expenditure on the acquisition of buildings, civil engineering structures and constructions, which accounted for 33.4% of the total expenditure on the acquisition of tangible fixed assets.
