NEWS: UK AML probe into Euro Exchange Securities triggers liquidity crisis at Puerto Rico bank

A UK money laundering investigation has triggered a liquidity crisis at Banex International, a Puerto Rico-based bank.

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has frozen $24 million in a bank acount connected to Euro Exchange Securities UK (EESUK), the London arm of a global payments firm. EESUK recently shut down after an FCA investigation over alleged financial crime risks.
