Yum! Brands Q2 net income surges 128% to $853m

Yum! Brands has reported a net income of $853m for the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, representing a jump of 128% compared to $374m reported in the same period a year ago.

For the quarter that ended 30 June 2026, the company’s total revenues also increased 12% year-on-year (YoY) to $2.16bn.

Its worldwide system sales during the quarter grew by 5%.

Yum! Brands’ KFC business posted a unit growth 7% in the quarter while Taco Bell same-store sales growth was 7%.

For Q2 2026, KFC division’s company-owned restaurant margins were 12%, down ten basis points YoY. The division opened 660 gross new restaurants across 55 countries.

Taco Bell opened 54 gross new restaurants across 15 countries in the latest quarter, while Pizza Hut Division opened 333 gross new restaurants across 33 countries.

Overall, the company added 1,053 gross new units in the quarter.

In Q2 2026, Yum! Brands noted that excluding Pizza Hut, digital system sales approached $9bn, with digital mix exceeding 60%.

The company’s GAAP operating profit grew 5% and core operating profit grew 5% in the latest quarter. GAAP EPS was $3.08 in Q2 2026, compared to $1.33 recorded in Q2 2025.

Yum! Brands CEO Chris Turner said “We delivered another strong quarter with robust same-store sales and restaurant-level margin performance.

“We also reached separate definitive agreements with two exceptional buyers for the Pizza Hut business, bringing our strategic review process to a close.

“Yum! will enter its next chapter as a more focused organisation positioned to accelerate growth.”
