Chapman Machinery launched its new FS750 twin-disc ATV fertiliser spreader at last week’s National Ploughing Championships.
The Devon-based ATV and UTV attachment manufacturer, supported in Ireland by Roscommon-based dealer Lambert ATV Sales, also showcased its wider range of attachments, including flail mowers and trailers.
The FS750 marks Chapman Machinery’s entry into the fertiliser spreader market. It has a 700l hopper capacity and a spreading width of 12-18m. Unlike most competing machines, which feature a single-disc setup, the FS750 uses a twin-disc, ground-drive design. According to Chapman, the additional disc is designed to provide more precise fertiliser application.
The spreader is designed for use with both ATVs and UTVs, with a fully electric shutter opening and closing system and an electromagnetic clutch drive engagement system. Both functions are controlled from a compact switch box.
In terms of construction, the FS750 features a galvanised chassis and a painted hopper manufactured from high-strength, lightweight Strenx steel. To maximise corrosion protection, Chapman shot-blast the hopper before applying two barrier primer layers followed by a final zinc primer and then the orange topcoat.
Flotation wheels and a hopper cover are fitted as standard. The FS750 is priced at €4,500 plus VAT, with the first units expected to arrive in dealer yards in January.
