NBS noted the growth of investments in long-term assets

According to the information presented on the website of the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-March 2025 in Moldova the volume of investments in long-term assets amounted to 6.3 billion lei. In comparable prices, this is almost by a quarter (by 23.9%) more than in January-March 2024. Of this amount, the volume of investments in long-term tangible assets was recorded at the level of 5.8 billion lei. The growth compared to the same period last year amounted to 19.8%.

According to the NBS Department of Investment and Construction Statistics, the volume of money investments in fixed assets in January-March 2025 was analyzed in several sections. In particular, investment in residential buildings rose by 18.9%, in non-residential buildings by 19.2% and in engineering construction by 8.0%. The growth in machinery and equipment amounted to 27.9%, in vehicles – 1.3%, in other tangible assets – 35.2%. The data are presented in comparison with the indicators for the same period last year.

At the same time, investments in long-term intangible assets increased by 0.5 billion lei in the first quarter of this year. This is 2.1 times more than last year’s level.

Overall, according to the NBS, investments in long-term assets amounted to 35.2 billion lei in 2024. This is by 7.9% (in comparable prices) more than in 2023. Of these, investments in tangible assets reached 34.1 billion lei, with an increase of 8.2%.

The increase in investments was recorded in the following types of fixed assets: residential buildings – by 20.4%, non-residential buildings – by 3.6%, cars and machinery – by 14.7%, vehicles – by 21.4%, other tangible assets – by 26.8%. At the same time, the volume of investments in engineering construction decreased (-15.1%).

Investments in intangible assets were recorded in the amount of 1.1 billion lei. The decrease compared to the previous year’s indicator amounted to 1.1%.
