Crop sprayer specialist Knight Farm Machinery has entered into a distribution joint venture importing a range of equipment from Greek manufacturer Agroma.

The new business – Agroma UK – will build on past collaborations between the two companies and is based at Knight’s office and manufacturing facility in South Luffenham near Oakham, Rutland.

Knight Farm Machinery managing director Brian Knight said: “We know each other’s manufacturing and design principles very well and share the same commitment to engineering excellence, advanced technology and machine quality, so this partnership is a natural step.”

At its base in northern Greece, Agroma produces Millenium 800- to 1,500-litre mounted and 3,000- to 4,000-litre trailed sprayers with different levels of features and equipment, from “economy” to “high-spec”.

Across the range, blue LED lighting on booms up to 30m is installed as standard alongside LED work and road lights.

The new company’s product portfolio also includes Agroma’s orchard, top fruit and vineyard sprayers, and heavy-duty side-shift mulchers for vegetation management.

The manufacturer is already active in the UK through dealers such as Ridgeway Sprayers in Wiltshire and Merse Agriculture at Duns, Berwickshire.

It aims to gain sales by adding further dealers, including those in Knight’s current network, while capitalising on the company’s parts and technical support resources.
