Italian textile machinery firms target stronger Bangladesh ties

An 11-member Italian business delegation is visiting Bangladesh to strengthen cooperation with the country’s textile and apparel sector through technology partnerships and new trade opportunities. Organised with support from the Italian Trade Agency and the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT), the programme includes business meetings, presentations and factory visits in Dhaka and Chattogram.

Italy exported textile machinery worth approximately €71 million to Bangladesh in 2025, reflecting the country’s role as an important supplier of advanced manufacturing technology. Italian officials said the collaboration aims to support Bangladesh’s textile industry with innovations that improve sustainability, logistics and production efficiency while strengthening long-term commercial relations.
