IMA Hassia’s machinery used to package cheese stick packs

Share

The Saudi Arabia-based Wardat al Mashreq Food Co. has chosen stick packs for its processed cheese and cream products, using stick pack machinery from IMA Hassia. The packaging company notes that the market for stick packs is growing, especially because stick packs are a “convenient packaging solution” for a variety of products.

Stick packs are easy for consumers to handle, while manufacturers benefit from lower material costs, IMA Hassia says. Wardat’s machine-processed cheese and cream products will be filled in 25- and 50-ml stick packs. IMA Hassia’s S600 stick pack machine is equipped with six lanes, producing 14,400 to 18,000 stick packs per hour.

Flat foil is fed into the machine, and cutters then notch the foil in strips through to the seal layer. The packaging is subsequently formed into single stick packs using a special forming shoulder, then sealed on three sides. Lastly, the stick packs are filled with processed cheese using dosing equipment specific to the product, IMA Hassia explains.

Wardat was searching for a paper touch for stick packs in combination with food safety and a shelf-life request of up to 12 months. The stick packs are practical and are a solution fit for offices, hotels, cafés, fast food chains, trains and buses.

“We selected IMA Hassia based on our trust in their capabilities and strong experience in packaging machinery, especially for this type of packaging application. The S600 gives us a strong production capacity compared to what’s available in the market,” said Salem al Mazroo, owner of Wardat al Mashreq Food Co., in a statement. “IMA DAIRY & FOOD’s quality standards help us deliver high-quality product. Also, starting our new stick pack project with an experienced and reliable partner like IMA Hassia is an important step for us.

“And we already ordered a second stick pack machine,” Mazroo continued.

The second machine is slated to be delivered in Q1 2027, and will increase Wardat’s production of the cream and cheese product. Wardat’s state-of-the-art plants are equipped with the latest technology, while stringent quality control ensures that the products meet the highest standards of quality, taste and nutrition, it says.

Wardat selected machinery from IMA Hassia, which develops and designs high-quality forming, filling and sealing machines (FFS) for cups and filling and seaming machines (FS) focusing on the dairy and food industry. IMA Hassia is a division of IMA DAIRY & FOOD, a packaging machinery, technology and services provider.
