Summer 2026 has been good to North Texas families looking for something new to do. Universal Kids Resort opened its gates in Frisco on July 1, and now Grapevine has entered the mix with an attraction built on an entirely different premise. Instead of rides and characters, Dig World hands kids the controls of real construction machinery.
Located at 2200 W. Grapevine Mills Circle, the park introduces a hands-on experience unlike anything else in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Under staff supervision, kids and adults can climb into the operator’s seat of full-sized excavators, bulldozers and other heavy machinery, turning a childhood fascination with construction into a real-world experience.
Here is everything you need to know before visiting:
Get Behind The Controls
The heart of the park is the equipment itself. Guests work through guided challenges using real excavators, bulldozers and skid steers — tasks like fixing a mock pipeline, fitting together railroad track sections, hauling large loads of sand or steering a skid steer through an obstacle course. One of the most talked-about additions is The Crusher, where a 20,000-pound asphalt roller flattens a toy that guests then take home as a keepsake.
Beyond those core challenges, the park layout includes several standalone attractions: Excavator Free Dig, Dig Academy, Operator Games, Highway Haulers and The Ultimate Dig. Guests looking for something outside the machinery can pan for stones at Mystery Mines, grab a bite at Pierce’s Post, cool off under the CAT Basecamp Pavilions or pick up souvenirs at the Supply Shed.
An Exclusive Dude Perfect Twist
Grapevine’s park sets itself apart with a collaboration found nowhere else in the Dig World lineup. Partnering with Frisco-based Dude Perfect, the park built a dedicated Dude Perfect Zone that blends the group’s trick-shot reputation with construction machinery. Instead of a basketball hoop or football net, guests aim for sports-style targets using excavators, turning the equipment into oversized game gear for basketball, football and golf challenges.
Pass Options For Every Kind Of Visit
Dig World offers both single-day and longer-term pass options depending on how often a family plans to visit.
Single-Day Passes
- Crew Starter Pass: $30 on weekdays, $35 on weekends — unlimited access to the park’s standard attractions with a reserved entry time and no cap on how long guests can stay once inside.
- Crew Premium Pass: $50, marketed as the best value — includes everything in the Starter Pass plus flexible entry timing, the CRUSHER keepsake experience and one bottled beverage.
Season & Annual Passes
- Crew 3 Month Pass: $75 for 90 days of unlimited visits, starting from the first time it’s used.
- Crew 12 Month Pass: $150, the top-tier option — a full year of unlimited visits plus a 10% discount on retail, food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Birthday parties, corporate outings and school field trips can also be booked as separate packages.
Rules Worth Knowing Before You Go
Every guest age 2 and older needs a valid pass to enter. Machine access is broken down by height for safety: guests under 30 inches can enjoy the park’s non-machinery attractions, those between 30 and 48 inches may operate equipment alongside an adult, guests 40 to 48 inches tall can ride boom or scissor lifts with adult supervision and anyone 48 inches or taller is cleared to run equipment independently.
Outside food isn’t permitted inside the gates, though reusable water bottles are allowed. Pierce’s Post handles snacks and drinks on-site, including gluten-free and dairy-free options.
As for weather, a light drizzle won’t close anything down, but the park may pause operations if lightning strikes within five miles or if extreme heat or cold makes conditions unsafe. Guests with unused passes in that situation can redeem them on a future visit. Social media is the best place to check for real-time closures.
The park is also built to be ADA-compliant throughout, with staff trained in accommodations and regular programming aimed at guests with special needs.
