THE M20 Limerick to Cork motorway is closed in both directions on the outskirts of the city this Sunday afternoon following a road traffic collision.

It occurred close to Junction 4 Patrickswell around 1.30pm. The single-vehicle incident  involved a lorry carrying heavy machinery and a number of cars.

Gardai, Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics with the National Ambulance Service are all at the scene.

Following a query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson said gardai and emergency services are currently at the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a truck on the M20 near Junction 4 in County Limerick.

“There are no reports of injuries at this time. Both sides of the motorway are closed with local diversions in place,” said a garda spokesperson.
