French luxury brand Louis Vuitton has filed a lawsuit against China’s National Intellectual Property Administration over a trademark dispute, according to a notice published on the website of China’s People’s Court and cited by TASS.

The plaintiff in the case is Louis Vuitton Malletier, while the defendant is China’s National Intellectual Property Administration. The third party listed in the proceedings is Huang Minyao, who, according to publicly available information, is an entrepreneur operating a garment manufacturing factory in Guangdong Province.

A public hearing in the case is scheduled for July 16. The details of the lawsuit have not been disclosed. The hearing will take place before the Beijing Intellectual Property Office.

Earlier, a Chinese court ordered beverage producer Molly Tea to pay Louis Vuitton Malletier 10.3 million yuan (about $1.5 million) for the unauthorised use of a trademark.

Louis Vuitton Malletier filed the lawsuit against Molly Tea in May 2025, arguing that the Chinese company’s four-petal flower logo closely resembled Louis Vuitton’s signature ornamental design.
