Central Platte NRD Board to meet Sept. 24

GRAND ISLAND – The Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at the CPNRD office, 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island. 

Building Committee 

The Building Committee will meet at the site of CPNRD’s new office and education center to review progress. The committee will also discuss hay bale options from the site and consider a recommendation to the Board.

Water Quality Committee

The Water Quality Committee will meet to discuss Nitrogen Management Program violations.

Manager’s Report  

Lyndon Vogt, General Manager, will report.

Annual Water Use Report

Jesse Mintken, Assistant Manager, will present the 2025 Annual Report of Water Use Activities in the Central Platte NRD. The report summarizes certified irrigated acres, transfers, well permits, and water-banking activities updated annually for the Platte Basin Meeting.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Reports  

Joe Krolikowski, District Conservationist, and Jason Scholz, Resource Conservationist, Grand Island Field Office, will report.

Nebraska Association of Resources District  

Deb VanMatre, CPNRD Representative, will report.

Nebraska Natural Resources Commission  

Doug Reeves, Middle Platte Basin Representative, will report.

Financial Report

The September financial report will be considered.

Cost-Share  

Applications for the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation Program and Central Platte NRD cost-share programs will be considered.
