IP and insurance – closing the intangible risk gap

As intangible assets account for a growing share of enterprise value, businesses face new opportunities and new risks associated with intellectual property. Insurance has an important role to play in helping businesses manage these risks, yet many IP-related risks remain uninsured or underinsured.

This Topical Dialogue will bring together insurers, businesses, IP professionals, policymakers, and academics to examine the relationship between intellectual property and insurance, identify barriers to insuring IP-related risks, and explore practical approaches to expanding the availability and use of insurance solutions for those risks.

Discussions will cover:

  • current trends in IP and intangible asset insurance;
  • the role of IP management in identifying, assessing, and reducing risk;
  • AI as both a source of new IP-related risks and a tool for improving risk assessment; and
  • how insurance can support investment, financing, and the growth of IP-intensive businesses.

Further details on the program, speakers, registration, and participation arrangements will be shared in due course.
