UK administrations update: August 11 - 17

Since our last update, the following businesses have been confirmed as having fallen into administration. All dates indicate when the administration was announced and not necessarily the dates on which administrators were appointed.

Megaman (UK) Limited – August 11

Megaman (UK) Limited, a lighting solutions manufacturer based in Welwyn Garden City, fell into administration earlier this month, with Simon Farr and Anthony Collier of FRP Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at slightly under £20,000 and current assets at around £2.7 million. Net liabilities, however, exceeded £6.5 million.

MBJSC Produce Limited – August 11

MBJSC Produce Limited, a fruit and vegetable wholesaler based in Essex, fell into administration earlier this month, with Lisa Moxon and Christopher Barrett of Dow Schofield Watts Business Recovery appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to October 31 2024, the company reported turnover of £21.2 million, down from approximately £26.1 million a year earlier, while operating profit fell from nearly £400,000 to slightly under £275,000.

In the accounts, directors said that the business had continued to navigate “high costs surrounding administration”, as well as a “continued lack of produce availability in the country which drove up prices”.

This, combined with difficulty in renegotiating selling prices with supermarkets, was said to have made it challenging for the company to meet the profit margins required for prosperity and to recover from the previous year’s losses.

At the time, the company’s current assets were valued at £3.6 million, but net liabilities exceeded £951,000.

FREP 4 (Coventry) Limited – August 11

FREP 4 (Coventry) Limited, a property development company based in London, fell into administration earlier this month, with Lauren Wentworth and James Saunders of KR8 Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, the company’s first with profit and loss figures, it recorded turnover of £362,000 and a loss of approximately £18 million.

At the time, current assets were valued at around £20.5 million, while net liabilities totalled roughly £18 million.

Private Drama Events Limited – August 11

Private Drama Events Limited, an events company based in London, fell into administration earlier this month, with Nicholas Simmonds and Chris Newell of Quantuma Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to October 31 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £94,000 and current assets at £1 million, with net liabilities totalling approximately £99,000.

Avon House School Limited – August 12

Avon House School Limited, the operating company behind the Avon House Preparatory School in Woodford Green, fell into administration earlier this month, with Philip Watkins and Philip Armstrong of FRP Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to August 31 2024, the company reported turnover of around £3.7 million, up from £3 million a year earlier, while operating profit increased from around £77,000 to approximately £239,000. However, the business ultimately fell to a loss of more than £547,000.

At the time, its fixed assets were valued at £7.2 million and current assets at £1.2 million, with net assets totalling £3.3 million.

Rengen Crown Limited – August 12

Rengen Crown Limited, a Bath-based real estate firm, fell into administration earlier this month, with Lee Lockwood and Gareth Harris of RSM UK appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to November 30 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at £4.2 million and current assets at slightly over £763,000. Net liabilities totalled around £326,000.

Perrin Myddelton Limited – August 12

Perrin Myddelton Limited, a Harpenden-based solicitors, fell into administration last week, with Sean Bucknall and Nicholas Simmonds of Quantuma Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to March 31 2025, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £47,000 and current assets at £1.7 million, with net assets totalling slightly more than £372,000.

Saunders Scott Limited – August 12

Saunders Scott Limited, an IT recruitment firm based in Teddington, fell into administration earlier this month, with Sean Bucknall and Marc Norman of Quantuma Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to May 31 2025, the company’s assets were valued at around “1.3 million, with net assets totalling around £338,000.

Jackson Distribution Limited – August 12

Jackson Distribution Limited, a clothing wholesaler based in Poole, fell into administration last month, with Alexander Kinninmonth and James Prior of FRP Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to May 31 2025, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £121,000 and current assets at approximately £5.9 million, with net assets totalling close to £2.3 million.

Philadelphia Structures Limited – August 12

Philadelphia Structures Limited, a Peterlee-based steel fabricator, fell into administration earlier this month, with Steven Brown and Stephen Kenny of KBL Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £60,000 and current assets at approximately £2.3 million, with net assets totalling around £1.5 million.

Business Mortgage Finance 7 Plc – August 12

Business Mortgage Finance 7 Plc, a special purpose securitisation vehicle holding a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans granted to SMEs and owner-managed businesses and secured against UK commercial and mixed-use real estate, fell into administration last week, with Mark Banfield and Catherine Atkinson of PwC appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to November 30 2025, the company’s current assets were valued at £33.3 million, while net liabilities exceeded £133.2 million.

Geniusto (UK) Limited – August 13

Geniusto (UK) Limited, a financial technology company based in Ingatestone, fell into administration last week, with Peter Kubik and Paraskevi Iacovou of UHY Hacker Young appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, the company’s assets were valued at around £1.3 million, but net liabilities exceeded £204,000.

Fulcrum Hospitality Limited – August 14

Fulcrum Hospitality Limited, a hotel operator based in London, fell into administration last week, with Paul Stanley and Kris Wigfield of BTG Begbies Traynor appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to March 31 2025, the company reported turnover of around £519,000, down from over £575,000 a year earlier, while falling from a profit of £5176 to a loss of £891.

At the time, its fixed assets were valued at £4.3 million and current assets at around £159,000. However, net liabilities exceeded £639,000.

Weybridge Skip Hire Limited – August 14

Weybridge Skip Hire Limited, a skip hire and waste management firm based in Walton-on-Thames, fell into administration last week, with Dominik Thiel-Czerwinke and Jamie Taylor of BTG Begbies Traynor appointed as joint administrators.

In the year to December 31 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £339,000 and current assets at £2.2 million, while net assets exceeded £527,000.

Blencowe Scaffolding Limited – August 14

Blencowe Scaffolding Limited, a scaffolding firm based in Salisbury, fell into administration last week, with Julie Palmer and Andrew Hook of BTG Begbies Traynor appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to June 30 2025, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £2.9 million and current assets at approximately £604,000, while net assets totalled £2.2 million.

Strathmore Hotels Limited – August 14

Strathmore Hotels Limited, a hotel operator based in East Kilbride, fell into administration last week, with James Dewar and Alistair McAlinden of Interpath Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2023, the company reported turnover of £19.2 million, up from £17.6 million a year earlier, while operating profit increased from £1.1 million to £1.2 million.

At the time, its fixed assets were valued at £31.7 million and current assets at £7.5 million, while net assets totalled £19.9 million.

Muse Fashion Limited – August 17

Muse Fashion Limited, a London-based fashion wholesaler, fell into administration last week, with Elias Paourou and Marc Norman of Quantuma Advisory appointed as joint administrators.

In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, the company’s current assets were valued at £1.2 million, while net liabilities stood at £1.3 million.
