A new restaurant and cooking supplies store opened in Waite Park this week.
Food Equipment Super Store, the newest venture from Buckman-based Britz Store Equipment, opened in Waite Park on Monday ahead of its grand opening event Saturday.
The large store, located at 79 Third St. NE, sells supplies for both commercial restaurants and stores, as well as individuals looking to build up their home kitchens.

“We’re not just cutting ourselves off to professional equipment … we want to have an opening to everyone who wants to have this style of cooking,” co-owner Justin Cummins said.
Food Equipment Super Store sells large items like freezers, coolers and walk-in refrigerators, which are geared mainly toward businesses. It also offers smaller goods like frying pans, containers, knives and bamboo toothpicks. Home bartender items, cooking supplies and baking supplies are also a part of the store.
Britz Store Equipment serves customers across the Midwest, but Cummins, who co-owns the shop with John Britz, said the area’s local restaurants have “been waiting for something like this to show up again.”
The new Food Equipment Super Store in Waite Park sells items for both commercial and at-home kitchens.
He said the store’s team hopes The Food Equipment Super Store will help the business better connect with the local community and serve the area’s small businesses.
“We’ve noticed that there isn’t a restaurant supply for all those small (businesses) or anything like that in the area,” Cummins said. “We said, ‘let’s take advantage of an area that doesn’t have it, and we can still reach out.'”
As the store continues to get started, Cummins said the team also plans to expand the variety of items it carries, especially for its smaller items like utensils and cooking pans.

Food Equipment Superstore also offers cooking supplies like Torani syrups, popular in many coffee drink.
Food Equipment Super Store is hosting its grand opening 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday with free lunch and popcorn and prizes from Leighton Media Broadcasting.

In addition to the Waite Park store, Britz Store Equipment is located at 9692 Highway 25 N in Buckman.
