Brazilian antitrust clears sale of Oi fixed telephony unit
The Brazilian antitrust authority (Cade) approved transferring Oi Servicos Telefonicos (via an isolated production unit) to Metodo, with the ruling becoming final 15 calendar days after Official Gazette publication. Signed in July for BRL 60.1 million following a competitive court process, the acquisition covers legacy fixed assets like voice lines, emergency/short-code services (190/192/193), payphones, and towers. These were put up for sale during Oi’s court-led bankruptcy procedure.
