Blackpool are poised to sign Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer on loan, according to reporter Alex Crook on X.
Blackpool are set to land the stopper on a temporary basis before the end of the transfer window. He has been wanted back by Chesterfield this summer, as per a report by the Derbyshire Times, but appears to be heading to Bloomfield Road instead.
Tyrer, 22, spent the last campaign on loan with the Spirerites in the National League and helped them gain promotion to the Football League along with Bromley. He made 43 appearances in all competitions before heading back to his parent club for pre-season.
In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Crook on X, he is expected to link up with the Tangerines now for this season. His contract at Goodison Park expires in 2026 and he will be looking to get some more game time under his belt.
Blackpool to land goalkeeper
Tyrer will give Blackpool more competition and depth between the sticks.
A switch to League One will be beneficial for his development and he will be looking to make the number one spot his own with the Seasiders.
Tyrer has been on the books at Everton for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy ranks.
The Crosby-born man has been a regular for the Toffees at various youth levels in the past.
He made 26 competitive appearances for their Under-18’s and has since played 49 times for their Under-21’s.
As well as his stint at Chesterfield, he has also spent time away at Chester in the National League North to boost his development.
What next for Everton man?
Despite interest from the Spirerites in League Two, Tyrer seems to be heading to Blackpool in the league above.
The Tangerines haven’t had the best start to the season and are without a permanent manager after cutting ties with Neil Critchley.
They lost their first two games of the new campaign before drawing to Cambridge United 4-4 last time out.
Blackpool have the chance to bring in more players before the deadline on Friday to bolster their ranks.
They are back in action this evening with a Carabao Cup away clash at Blackburn Rovers as they look to reach the same round.
The Seasiders then face Wycombe Wanderers at home in the league this weekend.
