ROCHESTER N.Y. (WROC) – Donald Swartz owner and operator of Veneto on East Ave says this time last year they were closed down for months due to an electrical fire. But now business is back and he’s saying he’s expecting a huge crowd.
“We usually get a good crowd, we’ll get a crowd to watch the parade, then we’ll get a crowd after the parade is finished, then we’ll get a late crowd, we’ll get a dinner crowd it’s a very busy day for us. it’s a busy day for all the bars and restaurants along this route,” said Swartz.
One of the bars he’s referring to that is just next door is a new cocktail bar that’s been around for 2 and a half months is called Aqua Vitae. Bar Manager Joe Soto says they are prepared for whatever tomorrow may bring.
“We have a good game plan for tomorrow but that will probably all go out the window when those doors open so we’ll see but we’re ready for it. We enjoy the craziness,” said Soto.
One patron, Sean Danahy, also known as DJ Danahy, stopped by to get ahead of the crowd to quench his thirst. He says although tomorrow will be a busy day for him he’ll make time to support those at Aqua Vitae
“I got a couple shifts across the street here at studio lounge and then finishing up the street at Murphy’s Law but I’ll be making a quick stop in here,” said Danahy.
