GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Nine people were charged after North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents finished an investigation after multiple people were hit by a vehicle during a large block party at a Greensboro gas station, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.
During the investigation, ALE agents learned weapons, alcohol and controlled substance violations happened on the premises of the Neighborhood Store.
All violations reportedly happened on the night of March 29.
The following people have been charged:
- Moses Wachira, of Whitsett, 63 (business owner): fail to superintend, allow conduct on licensed premises
- Yordanos Tesfay, of Whitsett, 42 (manager): allow conduct on licensed premises
- Javari Anderson, of Winston Salem, 24: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Isaiah Wesson, of Greensboro, 23: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Braden Sales, of Winston Salem, 20: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Tavarius Miller, of Winston Salem, 27: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Keandre Williams, of Winston Salem, 29: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Taknowledge Wagner, of Winston Salem, 21: perform unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
- Myles Lamar Matthews, of Greensboro, 24: hiring unlicensed armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons has not been served at this time)
At about 6:31 p.m. on March 29, Greensboro police responded to a gathering near South Eugene Street and West Whittington Street, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.
While the event took place during North Carolina A&T State University’s Aggie Fest, the university says this event was not officially sanctioned.
While officers were working to disperse the crowd, a vehicle quickly sped away around 7:20 p.m., hitting 15 people in the process.
On Tuesday, Greensboro police identified a black Nissan sedan that was reported stolen as the suspect vehicle in the case. The vehicle was found abandoned, and police are working to identify the driver.

Guilford County EMS says that a total of seven people were treated at the scene and six people were taken to the hospital, two of whom were seriously injured. The most serious injuries reported were broken bones. Four of the victims were NC A&T students.
“We heard the car rev up, and everyone kind of just ran in the opposite direction,” N.C. A&T student Kennedy Stewart said. “Me and my friends weren’t trying to run, but since everyone was running around us, we were getting pushed, so we had to go.”
