Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is an important source of income for people in need. Month after month, around 4.4 million Americans depend on this benefit to make ends meet if you are one of them, keep reading to find out when you will receive your April payment.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) distributes all SSI payments on the 1st of each month. If the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, payment is made on the closest previous business day.
According to this schedule, SSA will distribute the next payments on Monday, April 1. If you do not receive your payment on the established day, the SSA recommends waiting three mailing days and going to your bank first to check if there is a problem on their end.
If everything is fine with your bank and you still have not received your payment, you can contact the SSA through their contact channels or go in person to your local Social Security office.
Other payment dates
Usually, beneficiaries who receive SSI since before May 1997 or also receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) receive their deposit on a different date. However, this month, both types of beneficiaries will also receive their payment on April 1.
The SSDI payment, for its part, will be made on Wednesdays of each week, according to the schedule established for this benefit.
