NEW YORK (PIX11) — A luncheon in New York City celebrated the achievements of women leaders on Tuesday.
Women were recognized for inspiring change in their communities. More than 400 influential leaders came together at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, raising money for literacy support.
United Way of New York City’s Women United hosts the annual luncheon each March. It serves as a crucial fundraiser, raising $1 million for United Way of New York City’s education equity efforts.
“It’s about the power of women and what Women United within United Way of New York City is doing for our city, for our children, for reading…” said Heather Romero, co-chair of the luncheon.
PIX11’s Monica Morales hosted this year’s event, which is in its 18th year.
