FAIRFIELD TWP., Ohio (WDTN) — A Butler County woman was arrested in connection to a bank robbery, police say.
On the afternoon of Friday, April 19, Fairfield Township Police were sent out to AurGroup Credit Union, located on Creekside Drive, for a bank robbery. Credit Union employees told authorities that a female suspect had entered the building and demanded money while showing a handgun.
Upon analysis of video surveillance, detectives identified 74-year-old Ann Mayers as the suspect.
Mayers was then located at her home on Parrish Avenue, along with the Hyundai Elantra seen at the bank. Detectives recovered additional evidence including a handgun inside of the car.
Police say Mayers admitted to the crime and was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with Aggravated Robbery with a Firearm and Tampering with Evidence, both felonies.
Mayers has no known criminal history at this time. She remains incarcerated at the Butler County Jail, awaiting her first court appearance.
