Today is State Parks Volunteer Day | Raccoon Valley Radio

Springbrook State Park is participating in the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Statewide Volunteer Day today.

According to Iowa DNR Interpretive Naturalist and Educator Anne Riordan, activities vary across participating parks, ranging from tree planting and trail maintenance to building painting and trash collection. At Springbrook, the primary effort will focus on removing invasive plant species from native pollinator plots to support local plant growth. Work begins at 10am at the park gazebo and will continue into the afternoon. Attendees are advised to bring gloves, pruners, and water bottles for comfort and safety.
