New patent expands Pilot Games’ intellectual property portfolio and advances innovative player experiences for regulated charitable gaming
RENO, NV, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Pilot Gaming Systems, Inc., a developer of electronic pull-tab games and gaming technology serving charitable gaming organizations across the United States and lottery markets internationally, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) have issued U.S. Patent No. 12,705,949 B2, titled “Standard Animated Roll-Up for Electronic Pull-Tab Gaming.”
The newly issued patent covers technology for presenting an animated, staged prize-reveal experience within an electronic pull-tab game. When a player receives a winning ticket, the system can initially display the winning payline symbols without immediately revealing the final prize amount, followed by an animated “roll-up” sequence before presenting the payline symbols together with the actual prize awarded.
The patent also describes additional implementations of the technology, including roll-up presentations based on player selections made before play, Picture-in-Picture animation formats, extended roll-up sequences incorporating simulated prize presentations, and the use of watermarked symbols that can encode prize-related information without making that information readily identifiable to the player.
Pilot Games developed the technology to provide greater flexibility in how electronic pull-tab outcomes and prizes can be presented across regulated charitable gaming markets. Because presentation and prize-disclosure requirements can vary by jurisdiction, the technology provides a standardized framework that can be configured to support different regulatory requirements while preserving a consistent and engaging player experience.
For charitable gaming organizations, this flexibility can help support the deployment of proven game concepts across multiple markets while reducing the need to redesign core game experiences for individual jurisdictions.
“Innovation has always been central to who we are at Pilot Games,” said Jon Weaver, Founder and CEO of Pilot Games. “Since 2014, we have focused on developing original technologies that create exciting player experiences while helping our charitable partners maximize their fundraising opportunities. The issuance of another U.S. patent recognizes the creativity and technical innovation our team continues to bring to charitable gaming.”
Weaver added, “Protecting our intellectual property allows us to continue investing in new technologies and new game experiences. We believe innovation is critical to the continued growth of charitable gaming, and we intend to remain at the forefront of that evolution.”
The new patent further expands Pilot Games’ intellectual property portfolio. In July 2025, Pilot Games was awarded U.S. Patent No. 12,367,737, covering its watermark technology for electronic pull-tab games. Together, the patents represent consecutive years of new U.S. patent protection for innovations incorporated into Pilot Games’ electronic pull-tab platform.
