TOWN OF MAINE, N.Y. (WBNG) — According to a Facebook post from NYSEG, restoration crews encountered a challenge while working to restore power.

Last night in the Town of Maine, substation equipment caught on fire and was damaged, impacting 1,500 customers.

Dry ice and bottled water were distributed at the East Maine Fire Department in Johnson City and the Maine Emergency Squad in Maine today for those without power.

According to NYSEG’s outage map, 92 customers are still without power in the Binghamton region, and 15 are still without power in Chenango.
