Despite the criticism he has received for not playing with the USMNT this summer, Pulisic has continued to show support for the team ahead of the Gold Cup Final. The rivalry against Mexico has brought pressure to the final, and Pulisic made it evident that he backs his national team.

Despite the critics of fans not believing in Pulisic’s passion for the USMNT after opting out of playing in the Gold Cup, the 26-year-old once again showcases how he follows the national team during his time off.
A Gold Cup win from the USMNT would bring a lot of positive momentum ahead of the World Cup. A loss in the Gold Cup final could increase the questions and doubts among the USMNT. The national team will only rely on friendly matches to prepare for the World Cup after today.

Santiago Gimenez: “This is the ‘Clasico’ of North America. The last few games against the USA have been very difficult. Also, because I have Pulisic and Musah in the [AC Milan] dressing room. I want to go and make fun of them [after the final]. This is how football is.”
In the five competitive matches between the USA and Mexico, the USMNT has been undefeated. The last time the USMNT faced Mexico in the Gold Cup Final was in 2021, where the U.S. won 1-0 in extra time with a goal from Miles Robinson.
