Donald Trump expected to land at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk

Flight restrictions around RAF Mildenhall indicate the US commander-in-chief’s Air Force One will land at the west Suffolk airbase on late Monday or early Tuesday en route to an official visit to the Middle East.

Legislation published by the government prohibits unauthorised flights in the area between 11pm on Monday and 4am on Tuesday.

This is “for reasons of public safety and security during visits by a head of state”, according to a statutory instrument.

The same restrictions are in place between 5pm and 10pm on Friday, indicating Air Force One, the US President’s private jet, may refuel at RAF Mildenhall again.

President Trump last visited the airbase in 2019 when he stopped to refuel on his way to Vietnam

In 2021 his predecessor Joe Biden landed at RAF Mildenhall ahead of the G7 summit and addressed personnel at the airbase.

He said it was the “best possible way to start this trip”.

Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts had eagerly awaited President Biden’s arrival in Suffolk, with many arriving early to secure the best spot to see the Boeing 747 land.
