Industry veteran Robert O’Connor joins Firm as Partner to lead key initiative

DALLAS, April 13, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sycamore Tree Capital Partners, L.P. (“Sycamore Tree” or the “Firm”), a specialist asset manager with private and alternative credit investment expertise, today announced the launch of its Credit Secondaries investment platform.

Credit secondaries has emerged as a large, rapidly growing market as institutional limited and general partners increasingly seek liquidity and portfolio rebalancing options for their private market investment portfolios. As an investment strategy, the secondaries market has the following features: the availability of seasoned portfolios, purchase discounts, enhanced portfolio diversification, and accelerated cash flows compared to traditional private markets.

Sycamore Tree’s Credit Secondaries platform will expand on the Firm’s existing strategies, designed to provide investors with diversified private credit exposure, enhanced liquidity and attractive return dynamics. The platform will be led by Robert O’Connor as Partner and Portfolio Manager, supported by the Firm’s experienced team of 33 professionals and infrastructure, along with internal professionals and external hires dedicated to the strategy.

Rob has 24 years’ experience in secondaries, private equity and complex credit. He joins from Banner Ridge Partners having worked there for over six years. Most recently, he was a Managing Director responsible for the day-to-day management of the DSCO Fund platform, specialized funds focused on distressed, special situations, and opportunistic credit. As a senior investment professional, his responsibilities included building and expanding General Partner relationships across private credit as well as sourcing and executing primary, secondary, and co-investment commitments. Prior to Banner Ridge, he was a Managing Director at Drum Capital, a private equity and credit investment firm focused on distressed and turnaround opportunities where he worked for approximately five years.

“Credit secondaries is a natural fit with our corporate and structured credit expertise and our focus on strategies that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns and capital preservation,” said Mark Okada, Sycamore Tree Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer. “We’re delighted to have Rob join our team to lead this important initiative.”

Rob commented, “Mark, Trey and Jack are cycle-tested investors and business builders, and I’m excited to build on that strong foundation as we add new resources and capabilities to support our clients. Sycamore Tree’s Credit Secondaries platform is focused on meeting the needs of investors seeking diversified portfolios and access to attractive risk adjusted returns, supported by the Firm’s expertise, relationships and lack of conflicting products.”
