Woodstock Road, East Belfast: Man caught on camera grabbing cash from till in Belfast robbery

This is the moment a man grabbed cash from a till during a robbery in east Belfast.

The incident happened at the DayToday store on the Woodstock Road on Friday evening.

A female member of staff was left shaken by the incident.

CCTV images show how the man got to the sales counter, before lunging forward when the till was opened, grabbing cash.

The store owners posted footage on social media, and appeared for anyone with information to come forward.

The PSNI is investigating the incident.

Detective Sergeant Leeman said: “It was reported just after 7.30pm that a man entered the premises in the Woodstock Road area, pushed a female member of staff and took a quantity of cash from a till before fleeing on foot.

“Thankfully, the employee was not physically injured but she has been left shaken by the incident.

“The suspect was described as being aged in his mid 20s and wearing navy tracksuit bottoms, a black puffer jacket and a red peaked cap.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have CCTV, dashcam or other video footage to contact us on 101, quoting reference 1548 of 21/2/25.”
