Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has issued a statement cautioning against fraudulent use of its trademark, infringement and impersonation of their Executive Chairman Dr. Shardul S. Shroff.
The statement is mentioned below: –
“Further to the Public Notice dated August 6, 2024, cautioning against fraudulent emails, including notices for copyright infringement and impersonation of our Executive Chairman, Dr. Shardul S. Shroff, we wish to inform that Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. has taken appropriate legal action in this regard including filing a lawsuit before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.
On August 7, 2024, The Hon’ble High Court, passed an ex-parte interim injunction against all and any infringers and violators, restraining them from using the Firm’s trade marks and/or the name and photograph of the Firm’s Executive Chairman, Dr. Shardul S. Shroff or any other Partners/members of the Firm in any manner whatsoever.
The interim injunction also directs intermediaries to block the fake email addresses and furnish details such as phone numbers associated therewith. A direction has also been issued to the relevant governmental authorities for blocking the phone numbers and ensuring compliance with the order of the Court.
This is to further inform the public at large that the Firm has no relation, direct or indirect, with any such unknown persons and neither the Firm nor its Executive Chairman, Dr. Shardul S. Shroff has authorised the sending of such emails and notices to any person.
