It comes off the forthcoming album ‘PLAY CASH COBAIN.’
You know that thing where you say a word so many times in rapid succession that it loses its meaning? That’s kind of what happens on Cash Cobain’s guest-packed new song “problem,” which functions as a remix to singer Laila!’s recent single “Not My Problem.” Cobain’s song samples Laila! singing the word “problem” at the end of practically every line, and there are a lot of lines, because this song fits 15 verses into 7:39.
After taking the first verse, Cash opens it up to Fabolous, Kenzo B, Big Sean, Lay Bankz, Luh Tyler, Anycia, Chow Lee, Kaliii, 6LACK, Flo Milli, YN Jay, Flee, Don Q, and Rob49, in that order. The posse cut is slated to appear on the album PLAY CASH COBAIN, which the Bronx rapper will release August 23.
Cobain and co. spend most of the song riffing on what it means to be or have a “problem.” Here’s Cash in the first verse.
Got a bad bitch, she a problem
She got a man, but that’s not my problem
I’m the real Slizzy Smalls, bitch, I’m a problem
Nigga run up, then he gon’ have a problem
Fabolous goes next and counts his blessings.
I told Slizzy, “Mo’ money, mo’ problem”
Fuck at least being broke, that’s not my problem
I love bad bitches, that’s my fuckin’ problem
It’s baddies everywhere and that’s my fuckin’ problem
Kenzo B, the so-called “first lady of Bronx drill,” makes it clear that she’s in control of her relationships.
If he want a problem
I’ll be his problem
And he said my shit be too wet, have to ask him if that was a problem
Baby, as long as you doin’ whatever I say, then we won’t have a problem
And if you think that I’m your bae, that’s not my problem
Big Sean seemingly makes reference to his 2017 hit “Bounce Back” in his verse.
My whole city totin’ straps , that shit a problem (Pssh)
You treat rumors like they facts, that’s not my problem
Ho, stop wonderin’ where I’m at, that’s not your problem (What? What?)
I done went broke and then bounced back, that’s not my problem
6LACK’s problem involves making it rain a little too hard at the famed strip club Magic City.
I’m at Magic, might just have a spending problem
Outside the club and can’t get in (Yeah), that’s not my problem (Yeah)
I’ve been vibin’ since a nigga dropped “problem” (Tss)
Hit her from the back, she scream, “Oh, you a problem” (Huh, yeah)
New Orleans rapper Rob49 goes last and gets the longest verse. He’s not a guy you can trust around your girlfriend.
She want the Chanelly bag, that ain’t my problem
Boyfriend blowing up her phone, that’s not my problem
If he pull up, tryna come fight, we gon’ have a problem
You say I’m fuckin’ you better than him, so what’s the problem?
