Officers from West Midlands Police executed a warrant at an address on Whetstone Road following enquiries into the online sale of goods which are believed to have been stolen from stores in Wolverhampton city centre and the wider area.
During the operation, officers recovered a large quantity of clothing, alcohol and electronic devices.
A 38-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and have been brought into police custody for questioning.
Inspector Chris Turner, from Wolverhampton West, said: “Across the city we have seen a significant number of thefts from shops and stores this year and while some might consider this a lower level crime, today’s operation shows the kind of scale such offences can reach.
“Be it a business or a an individual, losing stock worth thousands will have an impact and we are committed to reducing crime that affects local people.
