Record-breaking year for UK and Ireland openings at Radisson Hotel Group

Radisson Hotel Group delivered strong growth during 2024, with a record-breaking eight new openings and almost 1,000 rooms in the UK and Ireland across brands including Radisson RED, Radisson Blu and Radisson Individuals.

The first Radisson RED property to open in Ireland was Radisson RED Galway. Located in Galway’s newest neighborhood, Crown Square, Radisson RED incorporates art, music and fashion to create an unforgettable stay for guests, and is an excellent fit for the famously cultural city. There are 177 guest rooms, two restaurants – including a rooftop eatery with panoramic views of Galway Bay and the city – and nine versatile meeting rooms spread across two floors, with over 400 sq m of meeting and event space.  The new addition brings the number of Radisson RED properties open or in the pipeline in the UK and Ireland to 10, including the multi-award-winning Radisson RED Glasgow and Radisson RED Liverpool.

Earlier in the year, the doors opened at Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield. With stunning views overlooking the town hall and The Peace Gardens, the property features a carefully restored Victorian facade and timeless design, making it a stylish addition to the city and a key part of its ‘Heart of the City’ regeneration project, in partnership with Sheffield City Council. The hotel offers 154 guest rooms, a rooftop speakeasy-style Indian restaurant concept and bar and six flexible meeting and event spaces with an outdoor terrace.

The group also welcomed six new properties into the Radisson Individuals portfolio, strengthening the soft affiliation brand’s UK presence and bringing the number of Radisson Individuals properties in the region to nine. Following its launch only four years ago, Radisson Individuals has now reached almost 90 properties trading and in the pipeline globally.

New additions Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa, a member of Radisson Individuals, and Park Hall Hotel & Spa Lancashire, a member of Radisson Individuals, are both historic properties, offering guests a tranquil retreat in picturesque surroundings. Set within the walls of a stunning 18th-century manor house near Shrewsbury, Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa is surrounded by 15 acres of landscaped grounds, featuring an ornamental lake and providing the perfect destination for rest, escapism and outdoor exploration. Park Hall Hotel & Spa Lancashire is housed in the grounds of a former a Benedictine monastery from the 7th century, nestled in the scenic countryside of Chorley and blending historic charm with modern comfort.

Earlier this year, the group also announced the openings of The View Hotel Folkestone, a member of Radisson Individuals, in Kent and Stanhill Court Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, in Surrey.

Becoming a member of Radisson Individuals allows properties to benefit from the global reach, reputation and quality standards of Radisson Hotel Group, while maintaining their unique character. Guests can enjoy enhanced experiences and access to Radisson Rewards, one of the world’s leading hotel loyalty programmes.

Sports stadium success

Radisson Hotel Group has seen success within the sports and events hospitality segment, with exciting projects at London Allianz Stadium, the home of England rugby, cricket ground Edgbaston Stadium and Toughsheet Community Stadium, the home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

The group announced an opening at London Allianz Stadium earlier this year, set to become a Radisson RED branded property in 2025 following a refurbishment. Located in west London, the iconic venue is one of the world’s largest rugby stadiums. It hosts numerous international rugby matches, concerts and other events throughout the year. The hotel will accommodate 150 spacious bedrooms along with a large lobby, lounge bar and destination restaurant.

The Bolton Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, opened its doors in the Toughsheet Community Stadium, which has a capacity of 29,000 seats and is home of Bolton Wanderers FC. With 125 rooms and suites, panoramic pitch-side views, an all-day restaurant, bar and lounge, as well as several modern meeting rooms, the hotel is the perfect venue for guests visiting the stadium or business travellers arranging meetings and events.

The hotel group is rapidly becoming an expert in sports and events-related hospitality and is expected to announce further stadium properties in the coming months.
