Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service were called to the incident at Brackenfield at 11.22pm.
An eyewitness reported two fire engines at the scene.

On arrival, firefighters discovered a person inside the property and managed to get them to safety.
The crew worked alongside ambulance crews who treated the victim.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service said: “Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service was called at 11.22pm on Friday to a property on Brackenfield in Bowness-on-Windermere.
“Ambulance crews attended to treat a casualty and our firefighters helped to rescue the person from the property.”

The extent of the fire and damage to the property has not yet been confirmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
