Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Grand Parade in Eastbourne yesterday, February 22, at 9.53pm.
Smoke was reported to be coming from the basement of a property and a small fire was extinguished.
An investigation is due to take place.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 9.53pm on February 22, we were called to reports of smoke coming from the basement of a property on Grand Parade, Eastbourne.
“Two appliances attended and crews extinguished a small fire.
“An investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire.”
