Bushey Heath house could become home for vulnerable children

Applicant Medirite24 Ltd is proposing a change of use for a house in Elstree Road in order to set up a Supported Living Facility, which would be managed by trained professionals on a 24-hour basis, according to planning documents.

A statement submitted alongside the plans reads: “The facility will provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment for vulnerable children who require tailored care and assistance to develop independent living skills.

“Located in a predominately residential area with access to essential community services, the property is well-suited for this use.”

The applicant claims that the impact on transport and highways would be “minimal”, noting that children would primarily be transported by organised care providers.

Medirite24 Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is already responsible for a supported living facility in Wolverhampton.

At time of writing, two objections have been submitted to Hertsmere’s planning portal, although the reasons have not been made public.

The plans can be viewed and commented on by visiting the planning portal and entering reference 25/0296/PD56O.
