Rajasthan’s Finance Minister, Diya Kumari, presented the second full budget of the Bhajanlal government. During her 138-minute budget speech, the most significant announcement was aimed at the youth. The government plans to recruit 1.25 lakh candidates for government jobs within the next year. Additionally, 1.5 lakh employment opportunities will be created in the private sector.
The Finance Minister also proposed relief in electricity bills; however, 150 units of free electricity will come with certain conditions. The government will provide 5 lakh new domestic electricity connections and 5,000 new agricultural connections. Moreover, tap water connections will be provided in 20 lakh households.
In the Water Supply Department, recruitment for 1,050 new technical posts has been announced. In a significant move for homebuyers, property purchases up to ₹50 lakh in joint ownership with a wife will become cheaper, with a 0.5% reduction in stamp duty.
Presenting a budget of over ₹3.25 lakh crore, Diya Kumari stated that Rajasthan aims to achieve a ₹30 lakh crore economy by 2030.
Additionally, the government has enhanced the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, increasing the annual benefit amount to ₹9,000 per year. All budget announcements will come into effect from April 2025.
