JOPLIN, Mo. — Freeman Health System is celebrating a brand new multi-million dollar medical office in Joplin.
The ribbon was cut Friday morning for the three-story, $10.1 million building. More than 30,000 square feet will house office space for urology, dermatology, and general surgery physicians.
It’s on McIntosh Circle, and has a connector bridge to the Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute.
Procedure rooms, a lab, and x-ray services are also in the building. The goal is to fill the needs of the community, including in one particular area.
“Definitely a shortage of dermatology services in the area, and this will help us expand our services, which we have provided for many years now. And, we look forward to continue to build on that service, and provide that convenient access with the highest level of patient care available anywhere in the area,” said Dr. David Baker, Freeman Health System Chief Medical Officer.
“We’re so anxious for our patients to come inside, see how comfortable it is, but the most important thing is that we will continue to offer the high quality, top-notch services that our region has come to know at Freeman Health System,” said Paula Baker, Freeman Health System President & CEO.
Five neurosurgeons, one dermatologist, and three urologists will start seeing patients in the building in the next few weeks.
