Dollar General announced its store at 291 S. Main St. in Oberlin has opened.
Officials with Dollar General said the store was open as of Feb. 19.
The store is a relocation of the Dollar General that was located at 544 W. College St. before it closed.
Dollar General provided details on the opening of the new location in a news release.
“The new store will continue to provide customers with the same value and convenience they have come to rely on, just in a different location,” the release said.
The company said the location will continue to provide household items including packaged food, cleaning supplies, paper products, over-the-counter medicines, hygiene products, baby items and home décor.
Dollar General also said there is a wide variety of fresh produce available at the location including lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes and salad mixes.
“The produce set offers the top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores and covers approximately 80% of produce categories most grocery stores carry,” the Feb. 19 news release reads.
The company also announced that the Oberlin City School District and nonprofits will have the opportunity to take advantage of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
“Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $238 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, helping more than 19.6 million individuals take their first steps toward literacy or continued education,” according to the release.
The opening of the 291 S. Main St. location comes just over four months after the company applied for the building permit with the city of Oberlin.
