Hyderabad: Defence training and anti-drone solutions provider Zen Technologies Limited secured a patent for its T-90 Tank Simulator — the containerised driving simulator system (T-90 DS), marking its third patent for T-90 tank simulators.
The listed Hyderabad-based company earlier bagged patents for the basic gunnery simulator (BGS) and crew gunnery simulator (CGS). It also has three patents covering T-72 and BMP-II tank simulator variants.
The T-90 DS is a high-fidelity, portable training solution designed to provide military personnel with an immersive and realistic training experience. The advanced simulator enables trainees to operate in a controlled environment, eliminating the need for live vehicle operations while ensuring effective skill development, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The system is an exact replica of the tank driver’s station with all controls and a six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion platform, which accurately replicates the movements of a T-90 tank across diverse terrains, allowing drivers to experience real-world vehicle dynamics.
It incorporates scenario-based AI training, offering customisable modules that simulate combat environments such as urban warfare, desert operations, and night manoeuvres, preparing operators for different battlefield conditions, the company added.
The simulator also integrates virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to provide an interactive training experience with real-time battlefield scenarios.
It also supports crew coordination and multi-unit training, enabling multiple tank crew members to train simultaneously, improving team collaboration and operational efficiency.
Designed as a containerised and rapidly deployable system, the T-90 DS simulator functions as a plug-and-play, mobile training facility that can be easily transported and set up at military bases. “This flexibility will allow armed forces to conduct high-quality training in various locations without the logistical constraints of moving heavy military vehicles,” it explained.
Zen Technologies said the patent for T-90 DS, filed on March 24, 2022, is valid till March 24, 2042. With this, Zen Technologies has now secured four patents in 2025 and 14 in FY 2024-25.
