Algiers, Algeria | August 27th, 2024 — In a controversial move, Morocco’s cannabis industry has seen an unprecedented surge in licenses since the beginning of the year, raising alarm over the implications of the country’s increasing collaboration with Zionist interests. The official Moroccan Cannabis Regulation Agency has issued 3,029 licenses for the cultivation and utilization of cannabis, following the legalization of cannabis cultivation in 2021 under the guise of “medical purposes.” This regulatory shift has also led to the pardon of individuals previously convicted or pursued for cannabis-related offenses.
Recent data from the agency, widely reported by local media, shows a dramatic increase in licensing: 3,029 permits issued so far this year compared to 721 in 2023. Of these, 2,837 licenses have been granted to 2,659 farmers involved in cannabis cultivation and production, a significant increase from the 430 licenses granted in 2023. Additionally, 192 licenses were allocated for activities related to processing, marketing, exporting, and importing cannabis seeds, an increase from 291 licenses in the previous year.
The licenses are distributed across various sectors: 60 for processing, 49 for marketing, 39 for exporting, 24 for seed importing, 18 for transportation, and two for seed exporting and nursery operations. Since the beginning of the year, the agency has approved the import of 7.3 million cannabis seeds under 26 import permits, covering 1,164 hectares and benefiting 100 production cooperatives with 1,520 farmers.
In a historic development, the Moroccan government has recently granted amnesty to 4,831 cannabis cultivators who had been convicted or were under prosecution for related charges. This move has been met with criticism from human rights organizations, which had opposed the legalization of cannabis due to its perceived risks.
The significant rise in cannabis cultivation licenses this year has been accompanied by reports that many of the recipients are Zionist investors, raising concerns about the potential for increased global distribution of this drug. Morocco, already the world’s largest producer of cannabis, is now facing heightened scrutiny over its role in global drug trafficking.
According to a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) report from last year, Morocco was the source of most cannabis trafficking operations in the Sahel region in 2021, with the drugs often routed to North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The UNODC’s 2022 report reiterated Morocco’s position as a leading global producer and exporter of cannabis.
Experts warn of the dangerous implications of the Moroccan-Zionist alliance in cannabis production and its potential impact on global and regional drug trafficking. The alliance is seen as part of a broader strategy to flood the world with illicit substances, particularly given Morocco’s dominant position in the cannabis market.
Reports from local media suggest that Moroccan cannabis dealers and Zionist operatives have established connections, although these ties were reportedly suspended temporarily due to the ongoing brutal aggression against Gaza. One such report included a testimony from a Zionist drug trafficker, revealing that some Zionist drug dealers in Morocco live in the northern regions of the country and rely on local and Zionist smugglers to transport drugs to Spain via maritime routes, from where they are distributed across Europe.
