Crunchyroll has announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival that it has acquired theatrical rights for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release the film in select cinemas this summer, in original Japanese and English dubbed versions.
The compilation film returns to the “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” story arc of JUJUTSU KAISEN, which focused on the younger days of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who shared a deep bond that was tested by one fateful mission. Featuring newly remixed sound for an immersive cinema experience, this high-quality adaptation reaches new heights—bringing the powerful story back to the big screen.
Since its debut in October 2020, JUJUTSU KAISEN has become a true global and pop culture phenomenon. Produced by Toho animation and animated by MAPPA studio, the series wrapped up its second season in December 2023 and was awarded “Anime of the Year” at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, among other prizes. JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie is the first new release from the JUJUTSU KAISEN property since the end of the series’ second season, and the first theatrical feature from the franchise since JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, which grossed over $188 million globally.
Fans can watch Seasons One, Two, and the film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 on Crunchyroll.
