Fields of Mistria has a very limited inventory space at the start of the game. This can become quite a hurdle during Foraging, Mining, or Fishing, as you would need to clear your inventory repeatedly. Upgrading your Backpack may cost a lot, but it’s definitely one of the most important purchases you can make early in the game.

With a more spacious inventory, you will be able to play more freely instead of constantly managing a small backpack. It will allow you to freely adventure across the map without throwing away any of your items.
How To Upgrade Your Backpack
Upgrading your Backpack is a simple task if only it didn’t cost a lot. You can purchase a larger backpack from the General Store in Mistria. It’s located near the quest board, which you can find if you go right after entering the town. Move to the tools section after interacting with the counter.
However, it’s quite expensive, and it will cost you about 1,000 Tesserae to buy the Bag Upgrade. Earning a lot of money as a beginner may be tough, but you will eventually get there if you keep working hard. One of the quickest ways to earn money is by completing quests and getting into the diving spots while swimming.
Make sure to have at least one slot free in your inventory to have space for the Bag Upgrade. You really don’t want to throw out any of your valuable items.
If you purchase the Bag Upgrade, it will be added to your inventory. All you have to do now is keep holding the interact button until you fill-up the bar. You will now have ten additional slots in your bag to keep even more items on you. However, we still recommend you keep unnecessary items stored in your chest or ship whatever you need to sell.
If you need additional storage, you can get some chests to store in your house.
