Scams galore are circulating on social media, and this time, scammers are targeting Guam’s online users seeking to obtain or renew their driver’s license, a service provided exclusively by the Department of Revenue and Taxation.
DRT on Tuesday said it has received multiple reports regarding various Facebook pages claiming to be Guam’s “verified registered online driver’s license service,” saying they are authorized to act on behalf of DRT and waive legal requirements such as attending driving school, accumulating road hours, and taking the written and road test.
“These pages are all scams. We strongly advise the community to call us and verify the validity of claims that a person or business offers government-provided services such as driver’s licensing and permits,” DRT Director Marie Lizama said in a statement.
DRT’s Division of Motor Vehicle is the sole agent authorized to issue Guam’s government identification and driver’s licenses.
Further, DRT does not contract third-party organizations to issue or renew driver’s licenses and permits, nor does it endorse any company claiming to be able to do so.
Residents are encouraged to call DRT’s Call Center at (671) 635-1840/1841/7651 to verify information and claims or email pinadmin@revtax.guam.gov.

Individuals applying for a driver’s license for the first time must visit DRT’s Barrigada location during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Driver’s license renewal applications can be mailed to P.O. Box 23607, Barrigada, Guam, 96921.
Renewal applications can also be dropped at DRT’s drop box located at the entrance of its building in Barrigada. The drop box is accessible 24 hours a day.
