Collector selling entire inventory of Wild West memorabilia in Topeka auction

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Treasures from the wild west are up for sale in Topeka this weekend.

Bob Conklin has amassed a collection of over 3,500 pieces from the era and, after 60 years, is looking to cash out. An estate sale started Friday afternoon at Hotel Topeka.

Conklin says he hopes each item goes to someone who will cherish as much as he has.

“I started when I was 10 or 12, collecting things,” Conklin said. “I just love the old wild west, and the Indian heritage. Just over the years every time I would find something and got involved, and then I kept looking and buying different treasures across the United States. It’s been a real enjoyment for me.”

The sale will run all day Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9:30 a.m. each day.
