Archival orders inventory of city vehicles

ON HIS first day in office, newly installed Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival ordered the Department of General Services (DGS) to conduct an inventory of all City-owned vehicles and properties, including those deployed in
the barangays.

In an interview on Monday, June 30, 2025, after the symbolic turnover of the Cebu City seal, Archival said the inventory was aimed at checking the roadworthiness of these vehicles.

Assessment

“I want to know the status of these vehicles. If these are damaged or not, so that we will understand how much we have to allocate for their rehabilitation,” said Archival, clarifying that it will only be an inventory and not a recall.

He said City-owned vehicles, even those deployed to the barangay units and those assigned to city councilors, must be turned over first to the DGS. Barangay-owned vehicles are exempted from the inventory, he added.

He also requested the department heads to conduct an inventory of City Hall assets and give a report on their condition.

The inventory includes the manpower and the number of staff. He said his administration plans to resolve the issue of some offices operating with a
skeleton workforce.

“Daghan mga tawo nga angay nato i-renew or tangtangon. But if ang health sa atong finances, we will look into it. Tan-awon nato unsaon pag-bahig,” Archival said. / EHP
