Dominique Loudon was faced with her worst nightmare on Thursday morning.
The 9News Queensland weekend sports presenter, who is eight months pregnant, had her Burleigh home on Queensland’s Gold Coast cased by weapon wielding thieves who had hoped to break in.
The journalist and her NRL star husband Martin Lang were home at the time when the thieves, who were a carrying baseball bat and a tomahawk, struck in the early hours.
‘[We were] so creeped out and shocked to see these two men with their faces covered just creeping around the front of our house looking for a way to get in,’ Loudon told Nine.
‘It was really confronting. I was also thinking, I’m pregnant, I’m having a baby in a month’ she continued.
‘If they came in, I don’t know how I would protect myself.’

The presenter has been battling to start her family for several years and has undergone IVF.
‘These chubby cheeks and puffy feet are officially on maternity leave!’ she wrote in her caption.
‘This baby has been six years in the making – a journey involving IVF, genetic testing, LMIT, lots of medical appointments and supportive doctors and nurses.
‘We sometimes thought it wouldn’t happen, but everything finally clicked into place! Counting down to meet our girl or boy.’
She added that she and husband Martin had more reasons to celebrate as the former footballer had just completed his studies.
‘Our recent babymoon made extra special with @martinlang10 completing his PhD in concussion research. Very proud of his tireless efforts!’ she wrote.
