The 2025 Cheltenham Festival is almost upon us as hundreds of thousands of horse, sport and fashion enthusiasts are set to descend on Gloucestershire for one of the sport’s biggest events of the year.
This year’s iconic week of racing runs from Tuesday, March 11 to Friday, March 14, with racing getting underway from 1:20pm each day.
It is expected that on average there will be over 65,000 attendees each day and it is safe to say they will all be keeping a close eye on the weather.
The weather can play a pivotal role in the outcome of each race as different horses favour different grounds, some prefer soft whilst others thrive on the hard surface.
So attendees and punters will have their weather alerts turned on in the hopes of predicting the condition of the ground so they can increase their chances of winning big at the festival.

The Met office is currently predicting a relatively dry but chilly week for racegoers, rain is only expected for one of the four days.
With that in mind, the expectation is the course should be good to soft going into day one of the four day festival.
