Two East Renfrewshire gyms upgraded with new equipment

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has upgraded its facilities at Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood Park Leisure with new Technogym cardio equipment and fixed-strength machines, including Stairmaster and treadmills.

Kenny McDonnell, gyms and fitness team leader at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “The refurbishment at Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood Park Leisure gyms aim to provide our members with the best equipment to support their fitness journeys and ensure they can make the most of their workouts.

“Feedback from customers has been positive, and our gym staff have been on hand, as always, to support them using the new equipment.”

The new equipment at Barrhead Foundry’s fitness adds to the enhancements following its launch of a dedicated functional training.

Last year, the gym transformed an underutilised area into “The Grid” – a 70sqm turf space with new fitness equipment.

“I’ve been focusing on different areas and I feel a better stretch after using the equipment.

“I come along four times a week, spending time in the main gym and The Grid and I use the swimming pool twice a week, too.

“The staff are fabulous.

“I have a problem with my hip and the physiotherapist gave me exercises to do.

“The instructors are really good at showing me exactly what to do and watch to make sure I do it correctly.”
