The supplies are being donated by Colten Care homes to the New Forest for Ukraine (NFFU), a Lymington-based volunteer charity that delivers aid to those most affected by the ongoing conflict.
Donated items include bed rails, walking frames, overbed tables, and shower chairs, as well as clothing, bedding, hygiene products, and nutrition drinks.
Mandy Haynes, lead trustee for NFFU, said: “The Ukrainian people need our help now more than ever.
“They are doing their best to care for people with all kinds of complex conditions including dementia and amputations while most, including the carers, suffer from PTSD and other trauma caused by the conflict in Ukraine.”
Colten Care began supporting NFFU following conversations between staff and Ukrainian colleagues about the needs of those affected by the war.
Lorraine Bell, manager at Colten Care’s Fernhill home, said: “When I was at Linden House, there were two Ukrainians in our team.
“They told me about their husbands fighting in the war and the plight of their families, friends and other people they knew in their country, from children all the way up to people aged 90 living with dementia.
“We got talking about what we could do here to help those left with nothing because of the war.”
Colten Care now regularly donates surplus mobility equipment and supplies from its homes in Lymington (Linden House), New Milton (Kingfishers), and Longham (Fernhill).

The Ringwood warehouse team, including driver and operator Matty Davitt, collects and delivers the items to the NFFU hub in Lymington.

The charity has sent more than 550 tonnes of aid since 2022, with recent deliveries including three lorry loads totalling more than 22 tonnes of supplies.
